About the BuildHUB
The BuildHUB is social network aimed at the self-build community, and our aim is summed up pretty succinctly by our mission statement - “to become the number one social network for the self-build community to share, compare, and discuss their self-build projects.” It sounds simple enough, right, but what do we mean by the ‘self-build community’? We define it as people or organisations that are either:
  • self-building, renovating, or converting a property, or maybe just thinking about it and need some inspiration
  • professionally involved in the design or construction of new self-build homes.
What sets us apart from other, more generalist social networks is that we’re specialised. Project blogs are the cornerstone of the BuildHUB platform and allow users to post images and updates relating to their self-build projects with notifications being sent directly to their followers’ activity feeds. Not only is it a great place to share current and ongoing projects, but for architects, construction professionals, and serial self-builders that perhaps have multiple projects under their belt it’s also a great way to show off portfolios of completed work.

We aim to keep our members up to date with the latest news from the self-build industry, showcase fantastic new projects and perhaps even run the occasional competition from our blog. On top of that, we have a great set of discussion forums where you can pitch your self-build query to our community.

In fact, a recent survey commissioned by the National Self-Build Association found that one in eight Brits are expected to research how to build their home in the next 12-months. There’s a huge potential for growth in the self-build market in the UK, and we see our role in it as quite simple - to make the whole thing a little more sociable...
